I have a house for sale by owner. Interested party has a realtor who is writing up an offer for this party and asked me what buyer’s agent commission I would be offering.
Doesn’t the buyer foot the bill for their agent, not me? Isn’t that part of the reason people sell without an agent?
I want to be fair but still think this is on the buyer. What is fair?
Either way this is going to factor into the net price that you’re going to receive from the buyer. Since the home is not on the MLS, there is no guaranteed payment of compensation from the sellers agency to any buyers agency. So, the only agreement would be that the buyer pays the buyers agents commission.
However, the buyer would need to factor this into their offer price if the seller will not pay the commissions agreed.
